Beam Dental CEO, Alex Frommeyer, says dentistry is 10 years behind healthcare, but he and his team are actively changing that.

He says dental insurance reform is the change agent that will move dentistry into the digital future – by influencing the purchasing decisions, how care is delivered, and how dentistry is practiced overall.

They’re using data and technology to create an objective environment, where they can determine that the dental work was necessary AND high quality – instead of the current model where reimbursement is provided solely based on whether or not an activity happens (ie – the patient received a filling).

The Beam team is working toward the goal of payers and providers working together to achieve better patient outcomes.

They want to ensure the entire experience is “easy, smart, and preventive.”

Another unique offering from Beam Dental is what they say is the first and only dental wellness program.

Through voluntary participation, members can use the Beam Brush, which collects data about their dental habits, and rewards positive actions (but doesn’t result in increased prices).
