Dr. Asif Merchant is based in Boston, where he serves as Chief of Geriatrics at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Chair of the Geriatrics Committee for Mass Medical Society, and Associate Clinical Professor at Tufts University, is a geriatrician who works with the elderly population in both hospitals and nursing homes.
In this video, Stephanie and Apurv talk about their interview with Dr. Merchant, which spanned everything from the need for more geriatricians, to the needs that the covid19 pandemic shined a light on in nursing homes.
Despite shortages of resources and providers, Dr. Merchant is hopeful about the field of geriatrics.
