We had the pleasure of speaking with Dr. Ami Bhatt, Chief Innovation Officer for the American College of Cardiology, and the conversation was enlightening!
Dr. Bhatt is patient-centered, forward thinking (she’s been doing telemedicine for a decade!), and deeply committed to improving the care of her patients and fellow practitioners.
She shared the importance of the ACC’s goal to ensure people have sustainable, scalable cardiovascular care in their communities, with details about how it would increase access, patient and physician satisfaction, and decrease physician burnout.
Dr. Bhatt says some of the keys to reaching that goal are:
- Breaking down silos
- Creating an agile framework
- Creating infrastructure
- Building strong partnerships with those in the community
