Dr. Larry McEvoy is a medical doctor, former CEO, and now author of the upcoming book Epidemic Leadership, How to Lead Infectiously in the Era of Big Problems.

It was fascinating talking to Larry and hearing about his work teaching people about Epidemic Leadership – a form of leadership that works like a pathogen that thrives when it’s in the right conditions and spreads positive change to those in its path.

He says finding and fostering positive pathogens can spread positive change worldwide, and says “It’s not the station, it’s the approach,” meaning that anyone can make a difference and lead changes.

The epidemic approach applies to everything from healthcare, to business, to communities. Larry says when you’re leading epidemically, it doesn’t feel hard like it may if you’re in a non-epidemic situation.

By getting to the root cause of issues, we can determine what is and isn’t working, and then work to identify the positive pathogen the can make true change that will spread.
