Jonah Cunningham, President & CEO of NACBHDD/NARMH, is focused on helping several dozen states provide community-based behavioral health care & helping promote mental health in rural areas.

To do this he uses a positive approach, focusing on what’s going right in their system already, and building from there.

In this interview, Jonah tells us about the work his organizations are doing – particularly with the launch of the 988 system (the 3-digit number that will take callers to the National Suicide Prevention line, and expand care to anyone in a mental health crisis), shares how he approaches his work, and more.
