From high-turnover, to being understaffed, and long waits for patients to get appointments, Dr. Dalila Lewis faced tremendous challenges when she joined the MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital as the Division Chief of Pediatric Neurology.
But, thanks to an innovative, collaborative, and get-your-hands-dirty leadership approach, combined with an open-minded and supportive administrative team at the hospital, she was able to make incredible changes very quickly. Since joining MUSC, her team has expanded, drastically shortened wait times, help reduce burnout of those on her team, and continues to provide incredible care.
Stephanie and Apurv share their takeaways from the interview. Be sure to tune in to the full interview with Dr. Lewis, she is a remarkable trailblazer working for her patients and her staff every day.
